Sunderland are keen on Blackpool midfielder David Vaughan.
The People says Black Cats boss Steve Bruce has made an inquiry about 27-year-old Vaughan.
The Black Cats would gladly take the former Crewe prospect before tomorrow's deadline but might have to wait until the summer, when he becomes a free agent.
Seasiders boss Ian Holloway has turned down a bid of about £1million for Vaughan, who has refused to sign a new deal.
