Romain Alessandrini opted not to leave Marseille in January despite interest from other clubs.
According to L'Equipe, the French winger, 25, was given the chance to speak with Premier League side Sunderland as well as Spanish outfit Villarreal in the winter.
However, Alessandrini opted to remain at the Stade Velodrome to fight for his spot in Les Phoceens' first team after joining the club from Ligue 1 rivals Renes in the summer.
Since arriving at Marseille, former Gueugnon and Clermont Foot midfielder Alessandrini has made 18 league appearances for France's third-placed side.
