Sunderland agree new deal with skipper O'Shea

Sunderland skipper John O'Shea has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the Stadium of Light until the summer of 2017. The 33-year-old joined the Black Cats from Manchester United in 2011.

"I am delighted that John has agreed to stay with us for at least another two years," said boss Gus Poyet. "He is our captain, one of our leaders and I am sure he will continue to help us get better and stronger as a team. I really look forward to continuing to work with John."
