West Ham United co-chairman David Sullivan has played down their pursuit of Boca Juniors star Juan Roman Riquelme.
The Hammers are reportedly set to offer the ex-Barcelona and Villarreal ace a two-year deal.
But sources at Upton Park suggest they have no more than a casual interest in him, says the Daily Star.
West Ham have already signed German midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger, 28, this summer and Sullivan is pursuing other targets, with a striker his top priority.
"We have limited resources, with our £100m debt, but we are going to make every penny count," said Sullivan.
