West Ham co-owner David Sullivan has assured fans they'll be active in January.
David Moyes' priority is expected to be a defensive midfielder after West Ham failed to sign Sporting Lisbon's William Carvalho in the summer.
Writing in the programme for Wednesday's derby against Arsenal at the London Stadium, Sullivan says Moyes is looking at where to strengthen.
Sullivan said: “David is still weighing up the areas we are short in but you can be rest assured two or three players will be brought in to improve the team.
"Before then, we have players available again after injury, with more set to return soon, too, so there is competition for places."
