Real Madrid legend Davor Suker says Luka Modric passed his Spanish audition last week. Real coach Jose Mourinho is planning a £30 million bid for the Tottenham midfield schemer.

After seeing Modric impress for Croatia against Spain, Suker argued: "Just look at the game he played against the Spanish. It was not easy to play because Spain had possession of the ball, but he fought to win the ball and when he had it at his feet, he created danger.

"Facing Spain, he proved to be a player for Real."
