Luis Suarez is grateful to Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard for supporting him last summer.
Gerrard was fully behind Suarez as the Uruguayan considered his future away from Anfield.
"It is clear that as a player everyone in the world knows what he is," said Suarez.
"Also as a person off the pitch, as a friend, he has helped me a lot during all that I have experienced.
"He helped me during the summer and I only have words of gratitude for what he did. He will always be an important person in my football career."
