Steven Gerrard says Luis Suarez is the best player he has graced the field with for Liverpool.

The Reds skipper was asked by ESPN if the Uruguayan striker was the best he had seen on his side and he felt the former Ajax ace was just ahead of former striker Fernando Torres.

"Yes. Simple. He's out on his own," Gerrard said.

"The only player who comes close to producing what Luis produced in a red shirt is Fernando Torres but Luis just pipped him for me."
