Stuttgart remain hopeful of keeping hold of Serdar Tasci.
The Germany defender has been linked with Tottenham and Arsenal this year.
Stuttgart chief sports director Fred Bobic said: "The sale of Tasci is an important issue for us. We are happy to have the guy on the team and thanks to God he has a contract with us." His agent said last season: "Italy is an option, but the Premier League is a competition that fascinates him."
