Daniel Sturridge was over the moon to help contribute to Liverpool’s third round win in the FA Cup on Sunday.
The former Chelsea striker opened the scoring for the Reds at the Field Mill Ground before Luis Suarez added a second and then Matt Green got one back for the Stages late.
It was a tough victory from Liverpool over a very determined non-league outfit and Sturridge was simply pleased to come away with the goods on debut.
"I enjoyed it very much," the ex-Manchester City forward said. "It was great to get to know my teammates on the field and it was great to win the game.
"It was a great ball from (Jonjo) Shelvey and I just got on the end of it and put it away.
"We showed a lot of character out there so we're delighted with the win."
