Sturridge targets Man City comeback

Exciting Manchester City striker Daniel Sturridge is on his way back from his hip injury.

He told City's website: "Hopefully by maybe December I'll be playing, but that's the earliest I could be playing, so I'll target early on in that month for now."

The teenage striker continued: "On his first day the Manager came in and he said he was really sorry that I was injured because it would have been good to have seen me in action. I totally agree because I feel bad that I'm not showing what I'm about. I've got to get through this stage and hopefully once I'm fit I can show him that I'm good enough to be in his team.

"When the new manager arrived it was a new start for me as well because I thought I could prove myself and hopefully get my opportunity. But with the injury it's stopped me doing that so I'll be like a new player. I can fully sympathise with Valeri (Bojinov) because he obviously came here to prove himself and is out for longer than me. I can only imagine how he feels."
