West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Pardew couldn't hide his excitement after securing the services of Daniel Sturridge for the rest of the season.
The Liverpool forward joins an Albion side that has scored just 19 goals this season, leaving them second from bottom with 24 games played.
Pardew believes Sturridge's signing indicates the club's determination to stay in the Premier League.
"I hope our fans can understand that we are fighting to stay in the Premier League, not just on the pitch but in the market place as well," said Pardew.
"This is a big coup for us and I speak for my staff and my players and say 'thank you' to Daniel for agreeing to assist us in League and Cup.
"He has fantastic talent and will strengthen our ambitions on both fronts."
