Daniel Sturridge has received immediate praise from Liverpool teammate Jamie Carragher for his performance on debut for his new club.
The £12million January signing from Chelsea kicked off his Reds career with a goal in debut as he opened the scoring in Sunday's 2-1 FA Cup third round win over Mansfield Town and Carragher was thrilled to see him contribute so early.
"It was a great debut with a great goal, you can see he has that bit of pace to get in behind," said the veteran defender.
"We were playing non-league opposition so you'd expect that but we want to see that against Premier League defences."
