Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Daniel Sturridge will miss this week's Champions League meeting with Real Madrid.
The Reds take on the reigning European champions at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday night but will do so without striker Sturridge who is still battling a calf injury.
Sturridge has not played for Liverpool since August 31 after sustaining a thigh injury and will continue on the sidelines after recently suffering the calf problem in training.
"I brought every player out with us, knowing this game is very important to us," said Rodgers who included Sturridge in his squad for the meeting with Real.
"It is a sign that we are very much together, that all the players have travelled, whether injured or fit.
"We will work out here over the next couple of days. With Daniel, we will see how he responds, but it is highly unlikely he will be fit."
Liverpool sit third on the Group B table with three points from three matches while Real are sitting pretty on top with nine points from their three outings.
