Daniel Sturridge insists he is ready to be the main striker at European champions Chelsea.
The 22-year old was often deployed in a wider position last season but now that Didier Drogba has departed, he is looking to become the key attacker at Stamford Bridge.
"I've been waiting for the opportunity as a striker since I joined Chelsea and hopefully this season will be the one where I can show what I can do there," Sturridge told talkSPORT.
"Hopefully the manager (Roberto Di Matteo) will give me a chance."
