Danny Sturridge hopes he gets an extended first team run at Chelsea.
Sturridge impressed in their FA Cup thumping of Ipswich.
He told talkSPORT: "The main thing is the opportunities because not many opportunities come for young players to start games," he added. "So when they do come and they get a regular run of games it's only a matter of time before they show their true qualities.
"It's hopefully going to be a good time for the young players at Chelsea where we can get opportunities to play regularly and start games. Coming off the bench is difficult. Starting games is where everyone wants to be.
"I think the young players at the club will get their opportunity it's just a matter of time before it happens because the squad is getting older and the young players at Chelsea are good enough."
