Sturridge in frame for Liverpool's clash with Norwich

Liverpool are confident that Daniel Sturridge will be fit for this weekend's meeting with Norwich City.

The 24-year old striker was subbed off in the second half of the Reds' 3-2 win over Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday and it was feared he may be sidelined for a couple of weeks with a hamstring problem.

However, a statement on the club's official website has revealed that Sturridge - scorer of 20 Premier League goals this season - is a chance of proving his fitness ahead of Sunday's trip to Carrow Road.

"A small strain was detected following a scan," read the statement.

"The 24-year-old will now undergo a treatment programme in order to try and be available for the trip to Carrow Road."
