Sturridge calls on Chelsea teammates to end squabbles

Chelsea attacker Danny Sturridge says the locker room squabbles must end. Sturridge insists they can still rescue their season - if everyone is united.

He said: "It's time for everyone to knuckle down, do their job and focus on winning games for Chelsea.

"Everybody talks - but what we say off the field is pointless because it's not going to change anything.

"You have to push yourself regardless of which manager you're playing for. You can never get complacent and think you're the best and should always be playing.

"At Chelsea, we've got to get some silverware this season and make sure we finish in the top four.

"Villas-Boas has helped me a lot. He's been playing me for most of the season. I've never had a manager who has done that before apart from my loan spell at Bolton. So I owe him a lot. To play at one of the best clubs in the world and start every week is a dream come true for me. I love playing for Chelsea.

"I've seen some stuff about me asking for a new contract but that's just not true.

"I've not spoken to the club about a new deal or told them I am unhappy. I am totally committed to Chelsea and to getting the job done."
