Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge has been named in England's starting XI to face Germany at Wembley on Tuesday. "Sturridge is fine," said England coach Roy Hodgson. "The only reason he came off in the training game was to give Rickie Lambert a go because there's a good chance I want to see him."
Meanwhile, Manchester City's Joe Hart is back in goal.
"I am sure he will respond very well. He is a proud man and very pleased to be playing for England," added Hodgson. "We have had no cause to doubt him in the qualifying games and also the Euros."
England XI to face Germany: Hart, Walker, Smalling, Jagielka, Cole, Gerrard (capt), Cleverley, Townsend, Rooney, Lallana and Sturridge.
