Stunning form of Tottenham's Kane no surprise to QPR's Ramsey

QPR caretaker boss Chris Ramsey insists Harry Kane's sublime scoring form for Tottenham has not at all surprised him.

The 21-year old striker netted a double in Saturday's 2-1 come-from-behind win over Arsenal in the north London derby to take his season tally to 22 goals in all competitions.

Kane's rise to stardom, however, has not happened over night with Ramsey a key factor in his development during a near-decade spell coaching the youth sides at Spurs.

The R's coach spoke of the England U21 international and made it clear that he always knew deep down that the Chingford native would make it at the top level.

"He hasn't surprised me," Ramsey said.

"Tottenham have been fantastic in giving their youngsters opportunities to play.

"Harry has been a very good player for a long time, I known him for a long time.

"I was at Tottenham for nine years and was in charge of coaching at the academy and, along with (coaches) like John McDermott and Perry Suckling, helped bring through quite a few good youngsters.

"Harry has always been very dedicated, he's a single-minded player who trains hard.

"He's scored over 20 goals now and he's well capable of that - he's not the kind of player who gets fazed."
