Arsenal chiefs ruled out a late deal for PSG striker Edinson Cavani over his AGE, it has been revealed.
The Mirror says while the London side were repeatedly linked with moves to bring in a marquee signing – Real Madrid ace Karim Benzema and Cavani both tipped to head to the Emirates – a deal failed to materialise before the window slammed shut at 6pm on Tuesday.
Arsenal did make calls to sign £50million-rated frontman Cavani but decided against making an offer – because the 28-year-old has 'no sell-on value'.
Arsenal were the only club in Europe's top five leagues not to add an outfield player to the squad in the off-season.
