Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has rejected a jaw-dropping offer to play in Qatar.The Sun says Gerrard has turned down an £18million offer to move to Qatar.

The Liverpool legend will leave Anfield at the end of the season.

Mega-rich Al Gharafa, based in the Qatari capital Doha, hoped to tempt him with a two-year deal worth more than £170,000 a week.

But Gerrard, 34, snubbed the Arab fortune and now looks set to join LA Galaxy in the summer when his Liverpool contract expires.

The American lifestyle appeals to Gerrard, who has a young family, ahead of a future in the desert state.
