Everton veteran defender Alan Stubbs is in line for the vacant assistant manager's job.

Dave Moyes is taking his time in naming a replacement for Alan Irvine, who left Everton for Preston North End last week.

The Daily Star Sunday says Stubbs, 36, has emerged as a top candidate to become Moyes' assistant after taking charge of the reserve team during the week.
