Strong finish can set us up for next season - Chelsea star Hazard

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has claimed that the strong finish in 2015/16 will set the club up for next season.

The Blues managed a 1-1 draw against champions Leicester City in the final game of the season at Stamford Bridge on Sunday to finish 10th on the Premier League table.

Chelsea lost just three of their last 23 matches under Guus Hiddink following Jose Mourinho's sacking and Hazard believes that is solid for to take into the 2016/17 campaign.

"It was our last game and it was a nice occasion," the Belgian told the club's official website.

"It was a close game until the end, we wanted to get the second goal but it wasn't to be.

"Congratulations to Leicester, they deserved it. They have had an exceptional year and played many good games.

"It's not easy to play as the champions, that's for sure.

'We knew that and it started from the first match. We maybe lacked a bit of combativeness compared to the year before.

"Injury-wise it was a bad season for me. The team, and me personally, have finished it okay, and we rediscovered some form which unfortunately we didn't show for much of the season.

"We and I have to start like that next season. We will all work together to try and be better."
