Straka rues wasteful North Queensland Fury performance

North Queensland Fury were wasteful in their 1-1 draw with nine-man Perth Glory last night according to coach Franz Straka.

The Townsville club fell behind when former star Robbie Fowler scored with a smart header from a bouncing Michael Baird pass in the 22nd minute but failed to overcome the visitors who had two players sent off early in the second half.

Although the Fury did manage an equalizer, through defender Mark Hughes in the 80th minute, their boss was unhappy with a showing which lacked efficiency in front of goal.

"I'm very disappointed. You see the chances (that) we had, especially in the first half," Straka said.

"We have to be happy with the point, but I think we have to be very disappointed. How are you going to win a game if you can't score? This is the question."

And goalscorer Hughes agreed with the Czech tactician, although he did admit the fact they were at least creating chances was not all bad.

"It seems to be a bit of the same story the last couple of weeks ... it's sometimes a bit frustrating when it happens," Hughes said.

"But they're there to miss, sometimes it's more worrying when no one's there to miss them."
