Gordon Strachan has indicated that he will hand a first competitive Scotland start to Jordan Rhodes on Tuesday.
The bottom-placed Group A side take on Serbia in Novi Sad in World Cup qualifying with Blackburn Rovers striker Rhodes set to be given an opportunity.
"We need to see Jordan. We always think: 'Jordan is a goalscorer, so we can stick him on for the final 15 or 20 minutes'," said Strachan.
"But that's not right for him. When he's at his best he plays with two strikers, but that won't always be the case at international level because not that many teams do it."
Scotland will be without Sunderland's Steven Fletcher, who sustained a serious ankle injury, whilst veteran striker Kenny Miller may be left out to give Rhodes an opportunity.
