New signing Marco Storari is confident Cagliari can beat the drop.
The on-loan AC Milan goalkeeper declared: "I wanted to leave Spain because there was no chance for me to impress.
"When Cagliari put in an offer I didn't think twice.
"I had other offers in the window, but the Sardinians made a real move for me and from the start I wanted to come here, even if it is less lucrative."
Cagliari need to pick up points fast as they are three points adrift at the bottom of the Serie A table and in danger of the drop.
"In my opinion Cagliari don't deserve to be bottom," Storari insisted. "I believe in survival. I'm not the saviour, but I am here to give a hand.
"I didn't expect to find such a charged and positive group given their League position."
