Anthony Stokes has declared he wants to stay with Sunderland.

"I want to stay at Sunderland. I'm happy there and I'm enjoying my football," the Irish striker stated.

"I just want to try and play games now and do as well as I can.. It's frustrating for any player if you're not playing week-in, week-out but there is a lot of competition for places there [Sunderland].

"The manager wants it like that and I think it has been good for the club. It gives you that edge to want to get back involved."
