Stoke City midfielder Tom Soares is grateful to gaffer Tony Pulis for the way he's helped him settle in.

"He comes and encourages you," the 21-year-old told The Sentinel, "and when you've done something wrong he comes down hard on you and you need that as well.

"He's quite similar to Neil Warnock (his Palace manager). He's quite passionate about the game and wants to win."
