Stoke City midfielder Danny Pugh is delighted to be back in the Premiership.

The former Manchester United trainee told The Sentinel: "I only played for United once in the Premier League, against Tottenham, along with the three Champions League games, so it is not as though I have loads of experience.

"But you learn from those and hopefully I'll get a bit more experience in the Premier League this season. Leaving United was the chance for me to get first-team football at Leeds.

"The opportunities were slight for me at United with the competition and the world class players there.

"I was only going to play bit parts in games or in cup competitions. Moving on was a good opportunity for me which has worked out well."
