Stokes enthusiastic regarding Lennon's Celtic stay

Anthony Stokes would love to see Neil Lennon remain in charge at Celtic.

The Northern Irishman led the Bhoys to a third consecutive Scottish premiership on Wednesday night but speculation still continues regarding his future at Parkhead.

Lennon has previously linked with Norwich City and more recently with Nottingham Forest but Stokes, who scored twice in the 5-1 win over Partick Thistle which clinched the title, is eager for him to stay put with the Glasgow giants.

"I'm sure everyone at the club, including myself, want him to stay for as long as possible," the Republic of Ireland international said.

"He's been outstanding. He's built his own squad here. All the players he's brought in so I can't praise him highly enough.

"He's had enough to deal with up here as well. With that in the background, it's been phenomenal what he has done.

"It's not easy to win games, week in week out. The gaffer tells us that before every game. We can only beat what's in front of us and at the same time keep trying to improve, improving the squad. Everyone has a goal for Europe as well."
