Celtic manager Neil Lennon believes Anthony Stokes should be included in the next Republic of Ireland squad.
The 23-year old has not been selected by Giovanni Trapattoni since last summer's Carling Nations Cup and was ignored again by the Italian for next week's friendly with the Czech Republic.
Stokes has scored 18 goals in Scotland so far this season and his Hoops boss Lennon feels he has deserved a national team re-call.
"Trapattoni is probably looking at the players that got him there but I think the way Anthony is playing he cannot be ignored.
"He has played consistently well for a big club, under pressure, every week and he's played well in European games.
"I'm not going to tell Mr Trapattoni how to do his job. All I'm doing is saying, look, I recommend this player to you and I think he's worth a look at again.""He hasn't played in any of the qualifying games (for Euro2012) and there was that time when he pulled out for feeling tired at the end of last season," Lennon said.
