Stoke City midfielder Rory Delap is turning to sugar injections to get over a shoulder injury.

After easing up on the pain-killing jabs, he puts his recovery down to the injections of sugar he is receiving in his shoulder in a bid to strengthen the joints.

Delap said: "The shoulder is coming on. I can still feel it but it shouldn't get any worse, so hopefully it is sorted."
