Stoke's Adam won't pull out of tackle against Bale

Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam won't pull out if there's a tackle to be won against Tottenham's Gareth Bale.

The pair are at the centre of attention for Scotland's clash with Wales on Friday.

Welshman Bale, who missed three months in 2011 after Adam's tackle snapped his ankle ligaments, branded the Scot a 'coward' when they clashed again in a pre-season friendly between Tottenham and Liverpool.

Adam, now at Stoke, has insisted he did say sorry to Bale at the time. He said: "I apologised to him during the game after a corner. I said to him I was sorry and thought everything was all right.

"I also apologised to the Tottenham manager at half time. Then all of a sudden I was being called a coward. That's football and it won't stop me tackling. I hope it is done and dusted now."
