Stoke youngster Marshall fancies Carlisle return

Stoke winger Ben Marshall would welcome the chance to rejoin Carlisle on loan. The 19-year-old's stint at Brunton Park was cut short after he suffered a broken leg and torn ligaments in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final in April.

"I loved every minute of my time at Carlisle and I definitely wouldn't rule out going back," Marshall told the News & Star.

"If Stoke want me to go out on loan again I will and my agent has said a few clubs have been enquiring. I've not heard from Carlisle but they made it clear they would like me back.

"Anyone in my position would like to play in the Championship but I wouldn't discount playing in League One again as my aim is to play football again and not sit on the bench."
