​Stoke winger Sobhi looking beyond Russia

Stoke City winger Ramadan Sobhi is looking beyond the 2018 World Cup and hoping that his native Egyptian national team can establish themselves as a dominant force within World football.

The Egyptian's sealed qualification to the 2018 World Cup during the weekend as they secured a 2-1 victory over Congo thanks to a brace from Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.

Despite Egypt being a powerhouse in African football, this marked the first time that they have qualified for a World Cup since 1990.

Sobhi helped his team win, playing 87 minutes of the game.The 20 year old told King Fut: "The match was difficult, thank god that we made it. All that mattered was the fans, we wanted to make them happy and we did.

"What the players went through is immense and showed that they are men and responsible. It won't be our last World Cup, it will become a habit for us to qualify afterwards.

"I want to thank the fans, the ones who were in the stadium and everyone in every part of Egypt. It all happened because of everyone's support."
