Stoke winger Etherington angry over diving claims

Stoke City winger Matthew Etherington is angry over diving claims after their FA Cup win over West Ham United.

He went down under a challenge from Scott Parker and there appeared to be minimal contact.

But Etherington said he felt the referee would give a decision Stoke's way on Sunday following Frederic Piquionne's dubious leveller in the first half.

He said: "I felt contact at the time. At that stage of the game, and after their goal appeared to be a handball, it looked as though the ref was going to give us something.

"But I'm not a player who dives. If people want to have a go it's water off a duck's back because I know I felt contact.

"I missed the penalty, so it had no bearing on the game anyway."
