Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane highlighted the importance of Sunday's 4-0 victory over Stoke City.
The Spurs ace netted a hat-trick as the North London club bounced back from Thursday's Europa League disappointment to Belgian minnows Gent.
"It was important coming off the back of Thursday, we were all disappointed and gutted," Kane told SpursTV.
"We wanted to change that.
"We knew if we started fast and scored a couple of goals it would be a good day for us and we did that. It was a great first half to go 4-0 up and we then controlled it in the second half."
Spurs moved back to second spot on the Premier League table where they sit 10 points in arrears of title favourites Chelsea.
