Stoke boss Tony Pulis will only sign Real Zaragoza winger Jermaine Pennant permanently if the price is right. Reports have suggested Zaragoza want £6million for Pennant, who is currently on loan at the Britannia Stadium.
Pulis is keen to keep the 27-year-old on a long-term basis but, reports suggest that Zaragoza want a sizeable fee for Pennant and that could scupper Stoke's prospects when the player's wages are also taken into account.
"I would like Jermaine to stay, but we do have a structure at this club that the chairman and his family want to keep," said Pulis.
"They have moved heaven and earth at times to get in players we've wanted, but there's no way we will put the club at risk financially.
"If we can do it, brilliant. If we can't, we can't.
"I think Jermaine would love to come and be a part of this club. It's just whether we can do the deal or not."
