Stoke will resist the urge to splash the cash when the transfer window reopens next month. That's according to chairman Peter Coates, who finds the abrupt nature of the winter window restrictive to good business.
He told The Sentinel: "January is not a great time to buy.
"I prefer not to as you don't want to be signing players under pressure, when you tend not to get the best deals.
"People know your circumstances and try to squeeze everything they can out of you.
"We have the best squad we've ever had with good cover, so it's unlikely we'll be doing much. But you never know."
