Stoke City are closing in on Huddersfield winger Anthony Pilkington.
The Daily Mail says Pilkington had a distinguished youth career playing at Preston, Manchester United and Blackburn but had to drop out of league football to find his way back in.
He grabbed Stockport's attention when he played for Atherton Collieries and scored a hat-trick against FC United.
Scouts are now circling and Stoke are growing increasingly keen after watching him several times, most recently on Tuesday against Plymouth.
