Stoke City boss Tony Pulis wants Abdoulaye Faye to sign a new deal with the club.
The 32-year old Senegalese defender is being targeted by Celtic who want him in January but Pulis is determined to retain the hulking centre-half at the Britannia Stadium.
"We are still in discussions with Abby because he's a decent player," Pulis confirmed.
"We've got Abby until the end of the season and things are happening behind the scenes, so there's no problem."
