Stoke City are ready to deal in fullback Glen Johnson.

The injury-prone defender will be approaching his 33rd birthday by the time the 2017/18 season gets underway.

However, The Telegraph says Stoke expect to trigger an option to extend former England international Johnson's deal by a further year.

The defender has been linked with a return to West Ham at the end of this season.
