The Senegal FA's treatment of Stoke's Salif Diao has annoyed boss Tony Pulis. The player must travel to Africa and demonstrate to his national team's medical staff that he is not fit to play in their World Cup qualifier against Gambia on Saturday.
"It's very disappointing to say the least because we wanted him here so we could supervise his return to fitness," Pulis told the Sentinel.
"He's done extremely well for us in two games running and was penciled in to play at Portsmouth before the groin injury.
"But those are the rules when it comes to injured players and national FAs. I'm afraid they have the right to demand he travels all the way to Africa for them to look at him in person if they choose to."
