Stoke City boss Tony Pulis was pleased with his players as they battled for a 2-2 draw at home to Wigan Athletic. The Potters twice came from behind to level and were indebted to goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen for a point after he saved Hugo Rodallega's late penalty.
However, the penalty was shrouded in controversy as Wigan midfielder Jordi Gomez was in an offside position before being brought down by Robert Huth.
Potters boss Pulis was disappointed that Gomez had not initially been flagged offside and was happy to accept the good fortune when another bad decision went in his team's favour.
"I haven't seen it myself, but people tell me he was almost a yard offside," Pulis told Sky Sports.
"The linesman is that side of the ball as well, so it was a poor decision.
"Two wrongs don't normally make a right, but it has done today."
Maynor Figueroa's goal from inside his own half had given Wigan a 2-1 lead before Ryan Shawcross' header drew Stoke level.
Pulis added: "He scores a one-off, it's a great strike and you don't want to take anything away from the kid.
"It is a great strike and that set us back a little bit, but we kept going and kept going, and the last five minutes was a little bit hairy after the penalty.
"I'm very pleased with them. We had a load of chances and I don't think they got down our end for a long time.
"I'm happy with the character and spirit the players have shown."
