Swansea City are to apologise to Stoke City after repeated replays of an incident involving goalkeeper Jack Butland was repeated on the Liberty Stadium big screens.
Swansea felt aggrieved that Butland was not punished for a studs-up challenge on Andre Ayew during Monday night's 1-0 defeat to Stoke.
After the referee failed to take any action, the incident was repeated three times on the big screens at the Liberty causing furious reactions from the Swansea home support.
Premier League rules state that controversial incidents should not be shown on the screens in the fear of inciting anger within the crowd.
A Swansea spokesman said: "We will be contacting Stoke to explain the situation and offer a formal apology."
Stoke manager Mark Hughes was annoyed by the use of the replays and branded them "unnecessary".
