Stoke to lose Arnautovic for just £12.5m

Stoke City could lose Marko Arnautovic at the end of the season.

According to The Telegraph, the Austrian forward has a release clause in his contract that could be triggered this summer, leaving the Potters without their star man.

Arnautovic has the right to leave the Britannia Stadium in July despite having a further 12 months to run on his contract and it is being reported that a set fee of £12.5million is all it will take for him to be off.

Stoke opened talks regarding a new deal last month but Arnautovic is eager to become the Staffordshire club's highest-paid player and is seeking a £70,000-a-week deal to join Xherdan Shaqiri and new signing Giannelli Imbula at the top of the Potters payment list which has stalled negotiations.

The 26-year-old, who has eight goals this season, joined Stoke from Werder Bremen for £2m in 2013 and has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Fenerbahce in recent times.
