Stoke City are believed to be in advanced talks with Amiens over the transfer of Guessouma Fofana.
Local French publication Le Courrier Picard reports that the Potters are favourably in negotiations with the Ligue 2 club regarding the 24-year-old defensive midfielder.
Stoke boss Mark Hughes is keen on Fofana despite his inexperience at the top level, having only arrived at Amiens in 2015 after a stint with third division club AS Lyon-Duchere.
It is understood that Championship pair Aston Villa and Norwich City are interested in Fofana but Stoke's relationship with Amiens has the Staffordshire outfit in a stronger position than Villa or the Canaries.
