Stoke City will be without Peter Odemwingie for the majority of the 2014/15 Premier League season.
The Nigerian striker sustained a knee injury in the weekend's surprise 1-0 victory at Manchester City and will now undergo surgery which will have him sidelined for much of the campaign.
Odemwingie confirmed the news on Twitter but said he was planning to be back in action by the end of the season.
It's confirmed now surgery is required. Really gutted I will miss many games of the season. Will work hard to be back as early as possible.
