Stoke City striker Jese admits the presence of Mark Hughes convinced him about moving to England.

Jese joined the Potters from PSG after a half-season loan spell with Las Palmas.

The former Real Madrid attacker told Marca: "The key was the confidence that Mark Hughes has shown me.

"He told me of his ambition, he wants to make Stoke one of the best teams in England.

"It's been a long time since I first wanted to have an experience playing in this championship."
